Doula Synergy Is Now a Fiscally Sponsored Project of Star Legacy Foundation

We’re building a future where no family faces pregnancy or infant loss without skilled, compassionate support. A future where every grieving family has access to trained doulas, every doula is equipped through specialized education and community, and clinical settings partner with doulas to ensure continuity of care.

Doula support has the power to completely change how families experience loss—offering validation, presence, and compassion in moments when the world often falls silent.

And we are taking a major step forward.

Doula Synergy has officially become a fiscally sponsored project of the Star Legacy Foundation! This partnership is a huge milestone that strengthens our ability to serve families and grow our mission. 

Star Legacy Partnership 

Star Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reducing pregnancy loss and neonatal death while improving care for families who experience such tragedies. They are a community of families, health professionals, researchers, policymakers, and advocates united in creating safer pregnancies and more compassionate care.

Their mission—to increase awareness, support research, promote education, and encourage advocacy and family support—closely mirrors our belief that every family deserves compassionate, informed, continuous care through and after loss.

Their vision prioritizes hope, prevention, technology, education, and partnership. Doula Synergy is proud to partner with Star Legacy to enhance family support during and after loss. Together, we are committed to ensuring that vulnerable babies and grieving families receive the care, attention, and advocacy they deserve.

Our Fiscal sponsorship allows Doula Synergy to operate under the legal and tax-exempt status of the Star Legacy Foundation while continuing to maintain our own mission, identity, and programs. This partnership allows us to:

• Focus on what matters most: Instead of spending significant time and resources on administrative processes required to launch a standalone nonprofit, we can focus fully on programs and support for families.

• Raise funds immediately: All donations to Doula Synergy are tax-deductible and processed through Star Legacy Foundation, ensuring financial stewardship and allowing us to pay grief circle facilitators now, expand offerings, and grow more quickly.

• Operate with accountability and transparency: Star Legacy provides oversight, financial management, and compliance support—giving donors confidence that their contributions are handled responsibly and ethically.

• Build a movement together: Partnering with Star Legacy expands their network of aligned projects, strengthens the national conversation about loss support, and positions doula care as an essential part of that work.

Our Work and Our Vision Forward

Doula Synergy is already supporting families and doulas in meaningful ways. We currently offer doula-led in person grief circles for families, a foundational bereavement training for Doulas, a publicly accessible resource database, and our Guide to Life After Loss—all designed to bring compassionate support to families navigating pregnancy and infant loss.

With the support of Star Legacy Foundation, we are now positioned to grow this work in powerful ways. Our next steps include expanding our training offerings, developing advanced and specialized education for doulas, and creating provider-focused trainings to improve clinical care during and after loss. We are also building programs that strengthen partnerships between doulas and healthcare teams, broaden community awareness, and ensure families can easily connect with trained doulas whenever loss occurs. This combined effort forms the foundation of a comprehensive, sustainable model of bereavement support—one that follows families from the moment loss is identified through the many months and milestones that follow.

Together, we are laying the groundwork for a future where compassionate doula support is accessible, integrated, and recognized as an essential component of quality care for grieving families.
