Cultivating Gratitude and Embracing New Beginnings

In this season of gratitude and giving, I find myself reflecting on the journey that has brought me to where I am today. While I always strive to stay present and grounded in the moment, looking back at the path I've walked—and forward toward the goals I’m working toward—fills me with a deep sense of appreciation and purpose.

Life has a way of teaching us through even the most challenging experiences. I’m not grateful that my daughter Lena died before I could hold her in my arms, but I am profoundly grateful for her life. Lena’s existence, though far too brief, taught me lessons I could have never learned otherwise. She has been my greatest teacher, guiding me toward this path of providing compassionate care to those navigating the brave and complicated journey of parenthood after loss.

The road hasn’t been easy, but it has been meaningful. Reflecting on where I’ve been, I see how the experiences that tested me the most shaped my mission to serve others with empathy, compassion, and hope.

The Evolution of Doula Synergy

The journey of Doula Synergy is one of collaboration and growth. Originally created in partnership with Anika Longstroth, Doula Synergy was born out of our shared commitment to learning and supporting one another as we pursued our certifications. It was an incredible experience that showed me the strength of collaboration and the value of building a community around shared goals.

When Anika moved earlier this year, I transitioned Doula Synergy into a platform to support my own business. But I’ve always felt that Doula Synergy is bigger than me—it’s a vision, a mission, and a collaboration waiting to be reimagined. Recently, I made the decision to establish Ashley Rose Doula as its own entity (website coming soon;), with an updated email address: hello@ashleyrosedoula.com. This transition allows Doula Synergy to take on a life of its own, evolving into a nonprofit collaboration with an even broader purpose. I'm in the beginning stages of it's creation but I want to share my vision because I'm looking for people who want to join me!

Introducing the New Doula Synergy

Doula Synergy is transitioning into a nonprofit organization with a heartfelt mission to support families through and after pregnancy and infant loss. Our goals are focused on empowering families and building a strong network of support. Here's our mission:

  • Empower Families: Help families navigate grief, find healing, and rediscover joy on their parenthood journey after loss.

  • Educate Doulas and Communities: Provide education on how to support families during and after loss, including specialized training and certification for doulas.

  • Offer Financial Assistance: Ensure access to doula services by providing financial assistance to families in need.

  • Build a Nationwide Doula Collective: Create a comprehensive database of compassionate, qualified doulas, making it easy for families to connect with the support they need.

  • Collaborate with Providers: Foster relationships with healthcare providers to highlight the transformative power of doula support and create a seamless pathway to connect families with care.

This work is deeply personal to me, and my vision is to create a community where doulas feel empowered, supported, and equipped to make a meaningful impact.

Looking Ahead

The transition to nonprofit status is a big step, and I’m excited to see where this journey leads. I’m currently looking for like-minded individuals who share this passion and want to join me in making this vision a reality.

If you feel called to support this mission, whether by collaborating, contributing your skills, or joining the collective, I would love to connect with you - please reach out! Let’s work together to create a world where no family navigating loss has to do so alone.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this journey. Whether as a client, collaborator, or supporter, your presence reminds me of the power of community and connection.

Let’s keep building something beautiful together.

With Gratitude,

Ashley Rose Salvitti
